Carbon Steel BS 3059 Gr 1 or Gr 2 Pipes are cold drawn made with or without weld or joints. These pipes have the ability to withstand very high pressures. These are very strong in nature and does not crack or break while in service. These pipes are recommended products for transportation of gas, fuel, pressure, etc.
These pipes are developed for improved corrosion resistance in moderately corrosive environments. These are often used in process stream environments that contain high levels of halides and chlorides. In addition to alloying elements, it improves general corrosion and chloride pitting resistance. This grade has higher stress to rupture strength and creep strength even in the higher temperatures. These alloy pipes have low carbon chemistry that enables it to meet desired mechanical properties.
BS 3059 Galvanized Carbon Steel Pipes have the ability to resist atmospheric corrosion in the reducing and moderately oxidizing environments. These pipes also offer good resistance even in the polluted saline waters. In the welded conditions, this alloy has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. Moreover, it has excellent strength and toughness at hostile environments. These are available in magnetic and non-magnetic conditions. The magnetic structure results by performing cold working operations. Because of machinability, these pipes are readily weldable and processed by standard machinery. These pipes are subjected to work hardening operation during deformation.
